Benoît is in debt and once again has to ask his wealthy parents for help. His plan to get the money is to make them believe that he is marrying his model friend, Emily. It’s just… Read all. I had the opportunity to see this film at an advance screening and I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for it, as it was a really mediocre film. Let’s start with the worst part: the script is completely empty and the humor is stupid without a trace of intelligence. The profanity is everywhere, if there was at least some subtlety it wouldn’t be a problem, but no, it’s vulgarity for the sake of vulgarity, maybe for a certain audience. In short, there’s not much to say about this French comedy. Of course, Michèle Laroque and Gérard Darmon are experienced actors and have nothing left to prove, but what did they do in this disaster? The pleasant surprise, however, is the male lead, whom I had not previously known, but he gives a solid performance and adds some value to the film. Another thing I enjoyed was that the opening scenes with the robbers were well done, but unfortunately the rest of the film did not follow suit.
